LSS Document Management software ("LSS Docs") is a full-featured document management system designed specifically for the legal industry.  It allows attorneys and staff to more efficiently manage, store and locate client related files - documents, email, pdf's, spreadsheets, images, presentations and more.  Just about any type of file can be managed by LSS Docs, including Outlook e-mail.

Document Profiles
When saving a document, email, or any other type of file, you simply provide LSS with information such as client and matter number, document type, and other optional data.  LSS Docs saves the file in its native format and then stores the profile information in a separate fully-indexed database.

Locate Documents Quickly
Rather than browsing through hundreds or thousands of folders, LSS Docs locates documents by searching the profile database.  You tell LSS Docs what you want, and the system finds it for you.  Search by any combination of client, matter, author, type, subject, and more.  The sophisticated search capabilities of LSS Docs will yield instant results.  Even when managing hundreds of thousands of files, LSS Docs will display your search results within seconds.

Full-Text Indexing
In addition to storing profile information, LSS maintains an indexed database of all the words contained in your word processing documents, email and PDF files.  With LSS Docs, you can perform full-text searches that complete in seconds.  Type a few words and LSS Docs uses the indexed database to point directly to the documents containing those words. 

 

Integration
LSS Docs is tightly integrated with popular applications like Word, WordPerfect and Outlook.  Select “save” or “open” in any of these applications, and LSS Docs automatically appears.  LSS Docs also stores documents and files in their native format.  Word documents are saved as standard Word Files and Outlook email is stored in Exchange - complete with attachments.  Your files are left untouched, the way you want them.  And because LSS Docs is an integral component of the LSS Law Office Management System, clients and matters are always current.

Document Auditing
Much like the auditing that takes place in the LSS Financial Management applications, LSS Docs performs automatic auditing of documents.  If a document is ever accidentally deleted or moved (through the use of a browser or some other application), the Document Audit will notify you that the document was misplaced.
