The LSS Document
Management component (LSS Docs) now
supports Outlook email, and any other file format recognized by Windows.
This includes word processing documents, email, Adobe PDF files,
spreadsheets, images, presentations, video and sound
- to name just a few.
LSS Docs was originally designed to help
law firms manage the
storage and retrieval of word processing documents. Today,
document management systems need to be able to manage many other
types of files as well. The newest version of LSS
Docs does exactly that - it has been expanded to handle
virtually any type
of file recognized by Windows.
Files can be associated with a client, matter, firm-defined
document type, author, owner and other profile criteria. Users can quickly
get a list of all files that belong to a certain client, matter,
document type, or any other combination of data contained in the
profiles.
Even when managing
hundreds of thousands of files, LSS Docs will display your
search results within seconds. Select a file from the list
and it opens in its native application. For example,
select a PDF file and it opens in Adobe reader, select an XLS
file and it opens in Excel, select an email and it opens in
Outlook. Word processing documents open in the appropriate
word processing programs.
