Each year, LSS produces new and improved versions of the software.
These new versions are based on changes in technology, user requests
and industry trends. New features are added and interfaces are
simplified - providing even greater levels of efficiency for our
clients.
The software actually becomes more valuable over time.
Version 2005A
includes literally hundreds of valuable additions and enhancements
that help law firms improve efficiency and increase productivity.
Many components are now "workflow enabled" so they can integrate
directly with the new LSS Workflow Management System.
Clients can
access a detailed New Release Announcement by logging into our
Client Services Website. Following is just a partial list of
new features found in version 2005A.
Financial
Management
- Control
panels have been added to each of the menus, providing
quick one-click access to the most commonly used
functions.
- Several
new management reports have been added to the Time
Accounting module for greater flexibility in measuring
productivity and other marketing efforts.
- A new
Pending Close report has been added to help manage
"closed" cases that still have active accounting
balances.

Discounts (reductions that appear on billing statements
as a separate line item entry) can now be applied to
specific timekeepers.
- New
Quick Bill functions have been added to streamline the
billing process for firms with simple billing requirements.
- Several
new electronic billing formats have been added.

Client/matter intake and accounts payable check requests
are now fully integrated with Workflow Management.
- Accounts
Payable includes a new function to copy the last entry
made - useful for large client expense transactions that
span multiple entries (i.e. delivery charges).
- The
Timecard Summary report in the Payroll / Attendance
module includes additional subtotals by work code.
Case
Management

Full-text search capabilities have been added to the
Records Management module.
- The Mass
Mailing module offers greater flexibility in the
selection of mailing categories when printing labels,
reports, and when exporting names for mail merge
functions in word processing.
- Time
Entry includes a new "personal" client lookup option
that shows just those clients assigned to a particular
timekeeper.
- Conflict
searches and maintenance are now fully integrated with the Workflow Management client /
matter intake process.
Document
Management
- A new
attachment function has been added to the Outlook
toolbar. This function allows documents to be
located through the Document Management interface, and
be attached to an email - all in one step.
- Multiple
files can now be selected from the document list.
This allows multiple files to be opened at once without
returning to the document list.
Workflow
Management
- All new
component that automates processes such as client/matter
intake, conflict checking, and check requests.

Electronically routes on-line forms from one department
or user to the next.

Maintains a complete audit trail of all process
activity.
